One of my favorites - School Ties with Brendan Fraser, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck

Hoosiers- Gene Hackman as Norman Dale, a high school teacher and basketball coach

Breaking Away- Dennis Quaid, Dennis Christopher, Daniel Stern, not any teachers involve here but the dynamics between the preppy college kids vs. the local high school "cutters" was great

Lol, I also liked - Ferris Bueller's Day Off

No one has mentioned a worst, here's mine:

Lean On Me,

Every Principal decided he was Joe Clark without understanding what exactly he was doing. Clark also had the mindset of "when everything else fails, blame the teacher".

FINDING FORRESTER is my favorite teaching movie by far.

A long time ago I saw Blackboard Jungle and thought, "Wow, how horrible." But now that's how it is everywhere. So I also love BLACKBOARD JUNGLE as a depiction of how it really is now and of what was once rare.

Great choices.

Breaking Away is also about the decisions people make about going to college (or nor) and how those decisions affect their lives. It's a wonderful film.

Entre Les Murs or it's English Title The Class, nominated for best foreign film Oscar.

Another French film, Les Choiristes, an exceptional film.

To Sir, with Love would be the best film..

Now, if we want to include TV shows, I would go with Room 222, The White Shadow, and the original Bill Cosby Show, with Bill portraying Chet Kincaid, the phys ed teacher ( 1970-71)...
