Seven more days. The kids are acting "done" like never before. (Maybe I think that at the end of every year?). I'm moving to a different classroom, what a hassle. I could use two days off just to complete literacy folders, DRAs, cumulative files, packing the room...

WHEW! I just checked my email an no lay off notice. The deadline to let me go without cause has passed. According to the union they now need to show cause to get rid of me in time to stop me from tenuring. You know given that tenure only means they have to give me due process to fire me, this now seems like much ado about nothing but I can relax for the first time in 2 1/2 years.

It's going to be nice going back next year without this hanging over my head. I'm not sure what I'm going to do for drama, lol. Drama and stress have been a big part of this job for over 2 years now. I can relax and teach now instead of sweating every decision wondering if it will be the one I'm hung by. I'm so emotionally exhausted all I've done is sleep the past three days and I feel like I could sleep for a week....and I just might.

I think mine checked out early too. In this area, I wonder if it was because of how bad the winter was. We had so many snow days that we just couldn't get a rhythm going from Christmas break until the end of March.

Hand in there. The end is near.

Same here. We missed 11, maybe 12 days? I don't know how many delays we had, but there were quite a few. Our regularly scheduled last day was June 20, but the school year was extended by 3.

Parent 1

Dear Mrs I,

I recalculated Johnny's grade. If you round his quarter 3 grade from an 85.4 percent up to an 86% and his quarter four grade from an 83.2% up to an 84% and his final from a 78% to an 80% like all the other teachers do, he should have an 85% which is really close to a 89.5% which would round up to an A-. Could you please change Johnny's grade.\

Parent 2

Dear Mrs. I,

Sally did poorly on your final exam. Is it really fair to allow her grade to drop from an A to an A- because of one C on one test?

Parent 3

Marko had a D- going into the final but got a C- on the final. Doesn't this show that he learned the material? I can't believe you gave him a D. He should have a C- because that's what he got on the final.

This is an exaggeration of emails I've been getting today....Obviously, report cards came in the mail...

Bahaha! That is some pretty slick math there.
