UGH! Our internal job fair system website has been down for 2 days now.
I just talked again to my husband. We plan to move in a year, out of state, back to where I have 17 years of experience, I just need to make it here one more year.
But even a year at my current location is not going to work. I go in every day with my stomach in knots.

Why are so many of us miserable in our current positions?

Ok, so I don't know if I mentioned this before, but I am at two schools, one Elem and one High. I work half day in each. If I could be guaranteed a position at the Elem school split with another Elem school, I would jump.
But that high school is awful. There is very little Admin back up. We have had 15 teacher assaults since the start of the school year. One of our teachers was punched in the face for taking a cell phone. Another was charged $600 because she took a cell phone and it was stolen.
NOPE! I am not TOUCHING the cell phones. Nopity nope nope. If kids are on them, I will mark them down on their participation grade, but until you can assure me I am not going to get punched, I am not touching them.
I haven't worked for 10 years, I took time off to raise my kids, but either things have changed, or I am just in a bad school right now.

Good grief. No one's ever been punched at my school but I've gotten into trouble for taking a cell phone before. I just ignore kids on them but then it get's noted in my evaluation.
I have to go back to work tomorrow. We will have 38 school days left in the year, but I know, it will be a race to the end. The first three weeks are state testing. ugh....
I can't believe I've spent the past few days of my break watching a Giraffe.

HAHAHAHA! I had it in the background yesterday and had to go out last night and was worried the thing would give birth while I was gone, but she didn't. And she is still pregnant today.

Wow. Ok, I will stop complaining so much. I only won't take them because I don't want something to happen and have to pay for it, but I am allowed to take it.
I haven't gotten anything on my eval about cell phones.
You know, in my last district (where I worked for 17 years) we got "meets expectations" or "does not meet expectations." That may have changed now, but when I left, they barely even came in my room. They popped in for 10 min, gave me the thumbs up, and walked out.
Now it is SO stinkin' detailed! I hate it. Most of the Admins just put you at the middle of the road for everything and don't bother with much more.
Thankfully, the only think I "need improvement" on on my evaluation was learning the computer program associated with this district.
I took 10 years off to raise my kids and the technology has CHANGED so much, it is overwhelming. I KNOW I need to work on it.
I cant' believe what some of you get written up for! For the most part, they leave me alone.

I just had to look this up. I was like, "Watching a giraffe?".
Editing because I don't know who reads these things and I don't want to get in trouble, but the level of disrespect from some students is more than I have dealt with in the past.
The blatant, "No! I wont' do that, MAKE ME!" attitude is unbelievable.
