I think high school students need recess...

I'm glad the cold is this week. I'd hate to think of kids waiting at bus stops in the cold. They won't close schools here unless the temperature is below zero and the wind chill below -10 Fahrenheit.

I wish we had a work day before the kids go back. We're all back on Monday.

I don't like the new PD game though. Always some snake oil they're trying to sell.

We started off with a two hour delay (called last night) but it was changed to a closure this morning.

Early release yesterday, closed today, already closed tomorrow, and I'll be surprised if we're open Monday lol

Keep warm and enjoy your time off.

We go back on Monday with nothing in the weather forecast to stop that. It's funny, I felt ready to go back late last week but now I'm wishing I was retired, lol. The kids will be squirrely this week. They don't want to do anything the week before break because it's almost break and they don't want to do anything the week we get back because they just got back.

We are closed tomorrow too. It was just announced. Right now Monday looks questionable due to freezing rain in the forecast.

I thought of you guys this morning when I saw the reports about the various counties in N. VA closed.

1 nephew district was 2 hours late and the other district was closed for the day.

I don't want any snow days because I want our break in Feb.

We won't end up having to make up any days. We have 14 built in and have used 2, so we have a ways to go.

We have 2 with a 3rd as a teacher work day that turns into a student day. However that’s each semester, so I’m not sure how that would play out since we didn’t use any first semester. Last year we had hurricane days first semester, and snow days.

I'm amazed at how many days some of you have built in. We have three. After the third day we have to make up one day for every two missed except we've never had to. Every time it's happened the state said we didn't have to so I'm not sure why we even have that rule.

We're back on Monday and of course they're calling for snow. Not enough to close schools. Just enough at the right time to cause major headaches getting to work. Murphy's law, lol. I need to go in early and put my room back together. We were asked to unplug everything and put cords up so that it would be easier for the custodians to clean. Nothing in my room is built in so I run cords all over the room to get everything plugged in. I hope I remember how to hook everything up.
