I got to do these drills in a Preschool Fisabled classroom, that was fun. Try to get 3 and 4 year olds with autism to sit still quietly under a desk in the dark for 20 minutes...thank God for M&Ms lol.

Fire drills give a false sense of security.

In my country we were required to have a fire drill a week during the first week of school and one a month after that.

One month we blocked one hallway...you know...like might actually happen during a real fire. The drill was a disaster.

Another month I decided to do an after school fire drill -- which the local government wouldn't "count" btw. "Why would you want to do a fire drill after school?" "To see what happens when students are in the building after regular school hours". "That's stupid". Well, guess what happened...virtually no one exited because they all assumed it was a false alarm.
