I have been looking at teaching jobs in different states and Texas has had a shortage of teachers in some cities. I know it is not California or Hawaii, but it does have coastal towns such as Corpus Christie, Freeport, Port Arthur, etc. Also, most military towns such as Killeen, Texas have openings due to large numbers of military troops bringing families into the community. I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado and we are getting a large number of military families at Fort Carson. Good luck with your job search.
If you can get an ESL supplemental credential on your History/Social Studies, you will find work!
