I don't even know how they were allowed to see those type of things on district provided computers. This guy is basically a sex offender and they want to let him back.

Sex offender? I admit to not following this case, but was he looking at Child Porn? If not, he's certainly no sex offender. I'm not excusing what he did (how come in this day and age people still surf porn at work?) but to say he's a sex offender because he looks at porn is...creepy.

But the issue wasn't the porn viewing itself.
The district fired him for the porn but only suspended the other 6 caught viewing porn.
Either fire them all or suspend them all. They cherry picked and gave one more punishment than the others for the same "crimes".

Clearly, he has a problem if he's looking at porn at work. That's why I feel he's a sex offender. If he ever masturbated to it, he is. Exposing your self is a sex offender, too. It's not just rape and molesting.

They aren't supposed to do that at all. It's typically grounds for license suspension or revocation.

ALL the people doing that should have been fired. It sounds like yet another instance of cronyism/favoritism in action.

What? A sex offender?

A sex offender is someone who has broken a law, if this man had broken any laws it would have been in the report and his arrest would have been public record. That didn't happen. You do not get to just change the definition of words.

He did not break the law. He certainly broke the rules of his employment, and should be punished the way anyone else would be. But lets reserve the labels like "Sex offender" for people who really are criminals, otherwise it desensitizes people to the real sex offenders.

This is one of those rare times that I am in total agreement with you.

our basic moral boundaries of right and wrong have been blurred. we have redefined unacceptable behavior as "mistakes" that people made. wrongdoings without consequences are not "mistakes", they are vices and grow larger not smaller which each violation.
