Maybe I should let you know the county in question, in case it is different for each county. It is McMinn County, not in the City limits.

We are in Claiborne county, and only had to pay the health department for the septic permit (and the county for the building permit). I don't know if the health dept is county or state, tho. Their septic guy visited the land and drew up a plan for our contractor to use for installing the tank and drainfields.

Ok, from what I can understand. It is the same thing as a sepic permit. When you apply for the septic permit, they will come out and do a layout drawing of the site. And it is $500 paid to the State of Tennessee per McMinn County Health Dept.
I thought I would post what I found out, just in case someone else needs to know.

$500? last year when we did ours, it was $350, but had just one up from $250. At least there isn't a huge impact fee. We never built on our vacant land in Florida because there was a $1200 impact fee for the septic, plus all the other fees were outrageous.

It is on the edge of Ocala national forest, near where the old cross-Florida barge canal was supposed to go through.
