Some insurance companies will not insure log homes at all.

Check Farm Bureau....

Own property in Fairfield (not a membership lot) but almost an acre in Hunters Cove by Lynnhurst and will be building a home there. Neighbors are talking 400 per year with home sales on the street on the Tennessee.gov County Assessors site at 200,000 +.

I live in Sunrise Florida (SoFla) paying 6500.00 per year for a TH that cost 86,000.00 in 2001. Now selling for a little over 300k. Unreal, no more H/canes please! To boot we do not get insured for the Mortgage, only for replacement cost and devalued cost of household goods. My neihbor paid 267k for his place a little over two years ago and can only insure for 176k, the replacement cost. Then it becomes a hassle with the dumbass Mortgage people who in all cases are blitheringly unaware of the Florida situation..
