Default Tennessee Is Number 2 In Bankruptcy

"Tennessee had the second-highest bankruptcy rate in the nation for the year ending June 30, according to data released Tuesday by the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. Tennesseans filed bankruptcy at a rate of 8.33 per 1,000 residents, trailing only Nevada's rate of 11.74 filings per thousand people. The national rate was 5.02 filings per thousand people. Personal bankruptcies — which totaled 1.57 million — were up 20 percent nationwide."

Tennessee has second-highest bankruptcy rate - Memphis Business Journal

In the article is a link to the chart of all of the states.

This is why all state high school students are required to take a half-credit class called "Personal Finance."

Not exactly the kind of list I'm proud of Tennessee to be on. Bankruptcy, obesity...yeah...not good to be highly rated on those lists.

Its kind of trade off. More jobs comes with a bigger a community.

There are more and more jobs that can be done remotely though, that is my dream to be able to do something online and live wherever I want.

What would all the new businesses be? For every new job there are 50 people applying for it. After a couple bad economic years, the housing mess and high unemployment the few new jobs are a litttle to little to late.
The article also stated that business bankruptsy was up 6.4% statewide.
