Tell us what's important to you, what your interests are, what you like to do, what your job situation is like, etc. Then we can probably suggest some places to start looking. Each small town in Tennessee has its own pluses and minuses.

I agree with the other 2 posters. Tell us more about what you want or need in a town, that will make it a better possibility of getting better answers.
Also, there is a BUNCH of great info posted by many people here on this forum. Read through several pages of the posts and in the sub forums (Knoxville, Nashville, etc. they are at the top of this page) That will give you a good place to start and maybe spark you interest for certain towns.
Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Have either of you visited Tn.? I'm finding out myself that even living here, Tn. is a diverse state. Each area of Tn. and even each small town has its own character and vibe to it. I don't think you are being fair to yourself if you go by others recommendations on where to live. That is a purely personal decision that differs for every one of us. We have changed our minds where we want to buy a house numerous times because we keep finding new areas to explore. My advice is to visit first, then do the research or research on here, decide what area appeals to you then visit to see if it is a good fit.
All the best,
Pam

Isn't there a really good dirt track in Bulls Gap? That would probably necessitate you living in or near Johnson City or Kingsport to find work as a medical biller secretary. East TN rarely gets tornadoes, much fewer than middle and west TN.
