Default Small Town Christmas

Hi All, Now that I will be a Tennessean by the end of this month I would like to know what small towns hold Christmas events in the "Old Fashioned Way".
I remember this has been addressed in a previous post but it was a long time ago.

I don't have a handle on where Church Hill is physically but if you are anywhere near the Museum of Appalachia (Norris), they do a Christmas In Old Appalachia. They don't post the schedule of events until November but you can check out this page to get an idea:

Christmas in Old Appalachia (broken link)

Scroll down for general information .

In Oak Ridge, there is a Christmas parade and the symphony orchestra (if I remember correctly) performs Christmas and other holday music, with the town chorus on some selections, and there is a community sing-a-long on some of the familiar holiday tunes. If I remember the 2006 program correctly, it included Chanukah music, as well.

There's a Dickens of a Christmas in Franklin (Victorian themed Christmas with costumes, horse drawn carriages, crafts, carolers, food).

Dollywood does a Smoky Mountain Christmas.

There is a big commercial thing in Gatlinburg. You can read about that one here: http://www.tnvacation.com/events/2308/

Rugby does Christmas at Historic Rugby.

Jonesborough gets all decked out for Christmas and has several events including a Christmas crafts show, home tours and I believe even candlelight shopping on one or two evenings.

Yes, I too was going to say Jonesborough does a bunch of old fashion type Christmas things throughout December. Rogersville is another one that has quite a few similar things. You'll want to keep an eye out at the entrances of your local grocery stores when you get here. There are several free small local newspaper types that list all the different events going on in the area for all seasons, they seem to get thicker after October.

And you can't miss going to Bristol Motor Speedway and driving on and around the track and parking lot and seeing their Festival of Lights

Oops, sorry, this isn't very old fashioned!
