Default Where to live other than Nashville for a musician?

My husband is a singer/songwriter and musician. He has developed alot of contacts in Nashville so now we are starting to think seriously about moving.
I am a RN looking for work in L&D, ER. We have 2 children 6 and 2. Many of my husbands friends have moved from So. Fl. to Nashville already, but I would like to know of other places near there that are family oriented and safe w/good schools, and outdoor recreations. Thank you in advance for your input.

If you want to live outside of Metro Nashville, I would suggest looking at some of the smaller outlying towns such as Mt. Juliet, Hendersonville, LaVergne, etc. Each has their pluses and their minues, but most have reasonably good schools and are convenient to recreational areas such as the lake, waterparks, and that sort of thing. All of them have sport activities for younger kids such as soccer and Tee Ball. If your budget allows it, there's also Franklin and Brentwood.

You could also look within Metro Nashville in some of the nicer communites. I think you would find the elementary schools acceptable for the most part; it's when you have kids going to high school that you have to be more concerned.

Consider Johnson City or around there. There are deep musical roots in that area, and also a lot of jobs in the medical field.
