me and my wife are looking for a small town 2-10,000 within 20 miles of a large city like the tri cities or chattanooga or knoxville, it has to be in the mountains with a small town feel to it...anyone got any suggestions?

Rogersville and Fall Branch come to mind at the moment. But tired now, tomorrow after coffee I might think of more and post them then.

Elizabethton is nice at about 14,000 people and Jonesborough at about 7500 is also quite nice.

Rockwood, Harriman, and Kingston each has about 5,000 people, and they're about 20 miles west of West Knoxville. Kingston is probably the most scenic because it's right on a big, beautiful lake. It's also the closest to West Knoxville, about 15-20 minutes from the gigantic Turkey Creek retail development in West Knoxville.
