Sorry to hear about the surgery. Hope everything turns out ok and you have a speedy recovery.
Are you saying you have to be there by Monday? Because the weather is supposed to be pretty nasty. You might want to leave a day early and get a hotel, if you can. Just to be on the safe side and maybe less stressful.

TDOT has a map that lists roads that are closed or dangerous.

http://ww2.tdot.state.tn.us/tsw/smartmap.htm

Click on the road condition radio button on the left. It takes a bit to load, but will highlight areas that have dangerous conditions. Right now it's looking like the upper Plateau, west of N'ville and a small patch inside the Smoky Mountains is showing red.

I agree. You may want to go tonight and spend the night. If you're having surgery at Vandy they've got special discounted rates at the Marriott that's on their property. Keep in mind parking is about $20 a day if you stay at a downtown hotel. I like the Springhill Suites at MetroCenter. When I stayed that's where I always stayed at. Quick 10 minute drive back to downtown.

If you're having surgery at another hospital, call them and ask if they have a discounted rate at any local hotels. Good luck!

Oh, and if you get a dusting in Nashville, the city closes. I mean seriously, people just close up businesses, people park on the side of the road. I'm from Florida and I thought it was nuts.

I would also keep in contact with the hospital....they might even cancel with what is expected tonight....
