Default Lawn Grasses

Wonder if anyone in middle TN has had experince with Zoysia grass. I have extensively studied the various types (Empire, Jamur, Meyer, El Toro, etc). and know all the Internet pro's and con's, but was looking for input from people who have experience with it.

Pro's/Con's that you experience, thatch, mowing with rotary mower, winterkill issues, etc.

Thanks for any input

We have a small amount in our yard and wish it covered the whole yard. Very thick, drought resistant and needs mowing less than fescue. Have no idea which type it is as we didn't plant it. I mow (4" high because rest of the yard is fescue) with a rotary riding mower and have no problems. It will turn brown when the first frost hits. I do plug aerate every fall.
