Today I've officially become a Southerner. The pantry is far from bare but I feel the need to run down to the store. For what? Who knows. But I am panicking because we might get a few inches of snow.

So, is it snowing in the southern portion of the state?

I've heard that it was snowing in Mississippi and Texas, earlier today.

Report when you see snow, please, and what you are doing in preparation. What are you cooking? Are you snuggled in for the night? Are your area's schools canceled, yet?

By the way, this is a gulf system that has the potential to give us anywhere from 3 to 9 inches in Knoxville. That's a lot for Tennessee.

Usually I have a soup or stew cooking, but I didn't do that this time. I think I'm all cooked out, since we've had so much snow this year, even though it's only been a few inches.

I think I'm just going to settle for hot cocoa.

Knox County schools have not been called off, yet, but there is a very large list of schools that have. School closings for East Tennessee Information & News from Knoxville News Sentinel (Knoxville, TN)

We're still waiting on it in Nashville. I can see it's coming down hard in Memphis though, so we shouldn't have long to wait! Check out the TDOT Smartmaps for a glimpse of Memphis.

Nothing here yet in Bristol, but we still have snow on the ground from Friday, so I'm not feeling left out...

Have to love the Wunderground forecast for tomorrow~

Southern staples are enough bread and milk for a week.

I'm good, then!

I hadn't thought of the TDOT idea. That's great, skyblueNashville!

Nothing here yet. McMinn county schools are closed Monday. I've got food so we are ready. I just hope the electric doesn't go off.

Oh yes! I love snow, but please let the electricity stay on. I recall vividly the blizzard of 93. We had 20 something inches in Bradley County. It was crazy! Power was out for a week in some spots. Exciting though!!

Yes! I was hoping you knew that. The Knoxville Sentinel link has it on there. You might want to use that from now on.

I'm worried about the electricity, too. It went out a couple of weeks ago during some snow. Fortunately, we were only out for a fairly short time. We have two fireplaces, though, so it helps.
