This question goes out to anybody who currently has kids in a small high school or maybe attended one themself not long ago. My question is in regard to schools with about 500 kids or less.

I have seen a few of the school websites and noticed that they offer different programs then a large school would, for instance football and cheer are not offered at Clarkrange HS.

Do these small-town schools have proms? Do they offer other things similar?

Thanks

Actually, Clarkrange doesn't have a football team. They can play for York, in Jamestown, but still attend classes in Clarkrange.

Ohh, okay. Well that actually makes sense, since the football team picture was of 5 guys only. Do you know if they have proms or school dances? social events similar?

Yes they do. I went to a small HS with a average graduating class of 25. We did have a football team tho. Some of the areas are so rural they do not have the funding or the student body to offer programs that larger schools do.

In Wilder they only have an elementary school. They are in Overton Co. but the students attend Monterey Highshcool in Putnam Co. because it is so much closer than the HS in Livingston. Thats how is use to be anyway.

If a particular school dosent offer a program that a larger school does in the same county arrangements can be made for participation. When I was in HS (during the dark ages) students were bussed to the larger school in another town for a few classes like mechanics and cosmetology because
