I'm going to try to make our own Log Bed frame next but will have to wait until we go back up in October to get the wood. The trees may have to come down but i'll put them to good use for our home. I'm sending these off to my family to have. I can't believe something so simple to make sells for $100 or $200 which i've seen online.
I love the smell of cedar, too! You are fortunate to have so much cedar on your property. Having a cedar bed frame will be awesome. I would love to be surrounded by that cedar smell. I think you've just found a new talent.

Does this mean we'll be able to see you at craft fairs...?

You know if i had time for craft fairs i would. I have a few other holiday crafts i like to make for people too specifically christmas balls with crocheted names on them which are a big hit with people but unfortuneately i have to work for a living too and somehow that just gets in the way of my hobby time.

Now growing up in N.H. i can tell you what a white birch tree, an evergreen and a maple tree looks like. Of course the maple trees have the tubing running through them collecting the tree sap so those are not hard to miss but it's funny to see people so puzzled looking at that wondering what the heck the tubing is for... maple syrup of course.

No it's just Paper art according to the web site i bought the lamp shade from but that's a great idea for darkening the laser cuts. I often wondered how they did that. I've seen them burn into wood before leaving the blackened fill look.

Incidentally, we had our fence made of red cedar. It turned out great and the smell is a nice touch.
