Here is the deal. Me and a buddy of mine are taking a mini road trip from Cincinnati down toward Knoxville Tennessee. Our goal is to spend little money, but still have one hell of a time. I have no idea what kinds of things to do or where I could look to find these things so I am going to ask the people. Please give me any suggestions of things to do, places to go, or anything else that would possibly be on the way that is somewhat between Cincy and Knoxville. We are not very geared to do any hiking, but we are interested in possibly spending some time with nature. If anyone knows of any natural landmarks that are awesome or sites that need to be seen, post it. I am open to any and all ideas. And a reminder, the cheaper the better!

Thanks!!

Well, I'm not sure if you would consider this to be a good suggestion, but in Corbin KY, just a few minutes off of I-75, is the original Kentucky Fried Chicken which doubles as a sort of KFC museum and old timey restaurant. It's a real slice of Americana.

Just north of Knoxville and just off I-75 in Norris is the Museum of Appalachia which is pretty interesting. The little town of Norris itself is worth a short detour, it was built to house workers building the huge TVA Norris Dam.

I love that suggestion! The Museum of Appalachia has an entrance fee - well worth it in my opinion - but there is also a very small free museum down near Norris Dam.

In Knoxville, it's free to walk around The World's Fair Park and admission to The Knoxville Art Museum is free. The Knoxville Tourism Center is very nice and during the week WDVX has a free noontime concert. Also, the East Tennessee History Center has a free small museum. The University of Tennessee also has a small museum that is free. It's called the McClung Museum.

Awesome awesome. We were planning on checking out the Norris Dam area so I will definitely hit up the museum there.
