Default Labor Day trip

I'm pasteing this post that I did in the Chattanooga forum to see if it gets some more feedback. I should elaborate on my intensions for real estate. I'd be looking to build in the future (10-12 yrs), on the water, 60K-80K range, from what I'm seeing Watts Bar is where I'm leaning. Any opinions?

The wife and I are planning a trip on Labor Day weekend to the area. We'd like to see some of the area and real estate between Chattanooga & Knoxville for future building plans (on or near water).

1) Any events going on that weekend to see?
2) Place to stay (Maybe a cabin/resort w/ marina boat rentals)?
3) Good places to eat/hang for early 30's (would love to get local bars & BBQ)?
4) Canoe river trips in the area?
5) Are there like beach areas where boats will anchor up have beers & food, etc.?

Thanks for the help.

and order the free Tennessee Vacation Guide 2007. The print copy is nice to have but you can download it, too. You get the print version pretty fast.

On this page:

you can find out some of the things going on in Tennessee by date.

The Boomsday Festival will be happening in Knoxville on Labor Day Weekend as will Swingfest in Chattanooga.

You can find out more about Swingfest here:

and about Boomsday here by reading about last year:

As far as I can tell, 2007 specifics haven't been posted yet.

The Tennessee Valley Fair (10 day event) starts September 7 (Knoxville):
