Forbes did a list of the best cities to live and also get a good education for your children. A Memphis & a Nashville suburb both made the list.

Brentwood, TN:
Best cities 2011: South - Brentwood, TN | GreatSchools

Collierville, TN
Best cities 2011: South - Collierville, TN | GreatSchools

And here's the methodology:

ranked based on state standardized test scores and the most recent National Assessment for Educational Progress data (the only test that is given to a randomly-selected group of students in every state). NAEP data offers a good way to compare cities in one state to those in another — even though state standards differ
Good job to these school systems for ranking so high nationwide!

That is great news, although there are some minor factual errors and old stats (population, acreage etc) in the B'wood entry. (Faith and Tim live way out in the county now; Jack White lives in Oak Hill.)

But Brentwood is awesome!!
