Could you make this an annual thing or something? We won't be out until next summer and I would love to have a course in southern cookin'...and I KNOW my husband would be more than willing to eat just about anything that was cooked up......

Kamkam, I have never done water and cream; only milk. Interesting. I do utilize the same method though. We make mostly sausage gravy because hubby loves it, but I love red eye the best. Served up with cat head biscuits, yum

My mom used to make red eye gravy. I prefer sausage gravy, tho. It was probably from the ham, but the red eye gravy was too salty for me.

I'm going to have to copy some of these recipes tho. My BBQ sauce recipe along with the Strawberry Rhubarb Bread recipes are good sellers on Ebay. Nothing like cream cheese, or good fresh Amish butter on a sweet bread fresh out of the oven.
