Not too long ago, there was an article in the Nashville paper (the Tennesseean) that there is a waiting list of about 2 years to get on at Nissan. Actually, it was to get to a certain phase of the interview part. I have heard of people going through temp. or employment agencies and have the offer that after so long (maybe like 3 months or so, not sure exactly of the time) they can be hired on as a regular employee.

My husband completed phase 2 of the interview process last week. Apparently there is a freeze on hiring right at the moment. That may only be for certain jobs though.
