Cool we're moving

We're looking to move to the Tri Cities area mostly Kingsport, We are looking for a smaller house to buy as we dont need alot nor do I want to clean a bigger space..we really dont need to be near schools as the kids are all grown, I would like to live away from "town" but still close enough to shop if needed. And does it snow alot in Kingsport, I hope so, after reading alot of different websites its hard to know what the weather is really like. And after reading other pages on this site, I am throwing out all the information packets from Newport, Were lookin for alittle coutry with alittle life also, where we are now is really really small, and the heat is killing us.Can we find a house for around $45,000? anyone who can help would be greatly appreciated...

Welcome to the neighborhood! hahaha My office is in Kingsport and I live in Gray. According to Sperlings best places, the annual snow fall in Kingsport is 12 inches and we are lucky to get 2 at a time...personally I wish there was a bit more too hahahaha. 45k is not out of the question, but you might want to look a bit more at 50-60k. Main reason being is that believe it or not, it is harder to get a mortgage under 50k than just over. A lot of lenders and banks have a minimum loan amount of 50k but there are some out there that will go lower, just usually at higher rates and if monthly payments are another reason you want a smaller house, you can actually get a bit nicer house at 60k than a not so nicer home at 45k and pay LESS a month for it. Just something to think about.
You may want to look in Mount Carmel or Church Hill, house costs are a bit lower than in Kingsport limits, but still close enough for shopping and such. Weather wise, as of today it is a nice 75 degrees and sunny. The fall flowers along the highway are all in there purple splender, leaves should be changing next month
Just my lil ol' opinion, hope it helps!
