We live in expensive Massachusetts and have a fantasy of moving to a progressive college town in the south. We are looking to find out what it's really like to live in TN , how expensive it is, and what the quality of life is.

Thanks for any help!

I'll bet you would love Asheville, North Carolina. Whenever you come to visit Tennessee, you should also drive over there- it's only an hour from Johnson City.

Default Asheville

I have visited Asheville and thought it seemed like a cool town. I just read on another forum that the cost of living is a little high and the job market not great. I am hoping to find a dream cost of living (from my perspective) and an interesting place for my kids to grow up with lots of culture and interesting people.
