Then you all most definitely need me there (in TN) to care for you guys. High cholesterol, high blood pressure, Diabetes and heart disease from all that fried food. I better spread myself thin if I am going to have to nurse the whole state back to health.

HengyMama...You're gonna have a toughh time nursing the entire state back to health!! That's a mighty big task....better recruit backups...
Good luck convincing everyone there or anywhere for that matter to give up, or even lay off the fried foods.(Especially in the south!!)
You a so sweet to worry about all of us like that!!

We ate at a local place for breakfast.. people thought I was nuts saying no to sausage/bacon.. whole wheat bread please , no butter.. no biscuits and gravy.. LOL And the iced tea, mostly unsweetened with a bit of sweet and if I really want to be daring, I have half sweet and half unsweet.

Good for you.....the more we ask for healthy alternatives, the more educated people become about their own health issues.
Pork is very toxic to the body. Pigs have no sweat glands so they have no way to rid their own bodies of toxins. It is evident in the meat of a pig within one hour of consuming their food (garbage). They also have parasites and microscopic worms, which is why they tell you to cook it thoroughly. Maybe that's why the Bible tells us not to eat it. God just wants us to live long, healthy lives.

There you go! Also, for those of us that live here we can go too! They have breads made with non organic and organic products, organic farm fresh meats and dairy products.
I don't think anyone has mentioned this yet on this thread but Petro's first debuted at the 1982 World's Fair and those are a food delight to some. I also like Sweetwater Valley Cheese from Philadelphia and Cinnamon and Pecan Honey Jelly made in Knoxville by Honeyberry Farm.

My personal favorite is....Chicken Fried Steak w/country gravy (that's the white gravy, for those who don't know), of course it is served with wonderful homade rolls and mashed potatoes...also w/country gravy.
And definitely...sausage gravy and biscuits!!!

My granny will be 101 next month. Ill bet she went thru a 5 gal bucket of lard a week. Fried everything in it. I can remember breakfast there as a kid, bacon, sausage, fried taters, fried corn, biscuits/gravy (the best ever) fried apples and sometimes even pork chops. Then dinner would be fried chicken, biscuits/gravy, greenbeans cooked with bacon drippings, fried okra, etc.
Grandpa died at 92, my mom died of lung cancer at 74, my uncle died in April of cancer at 55, he was a health nut, fruits veggies, peanut butter and worked out. My other uncles are going strong. Go figure.
Now back to the topic. Blackberry cobbler nice and bubbly with a scoop of ice cream. Im going to have tons of wild blackberries this year.
