Experts say that although Tennessee's drought conditions have had some visible affects on trees, it is too early to know whether the drought will have an affect on fall foliage. You can read the store by clicking on the link below.

Great article, thanks for sharing it. I hope we do get some leaf color this year. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year here in the Smokies.

That is an interesting article. Thanks for sharing it, jguillot.

And I'm with you, MB, fall is my favorite season of our four beautiful seasons. Besides FOOTBALL, it's just an amazingly beautiful time of year here. My mom says she never knew she liked fall until moving to Tennessee.

It would be very nice if, after this horrible weather, we got some glorious foliage. Thanks for giving us some hope.

Default leaves

The leaves are turning brown already and falling. NOAA says the area is is in "extreme Drought" but there is hope of improvement

As mentioned in the report, the trees in the Nashville area have already been turning brown due to the drought (plus some have died). I doubt whether the foliage will be very pretty this year in our area.

We're gotten a little rain, but not a lot. Looking out my window it looks like it might come a shower this afternoon.

I think this years fall foliage is going to be quite poor. All of my Ash trees are brown and have lost 50% of their leaves. My favorites are the Sugar Maples and they are shriveling. The Red Maples are 25% brown and look weak. Two of my large pines have died. With only a month to go, I believe that fall tourism to the Smokies is going to be down a lot.

Fall/Autumn season is definitely my favorite season of the four seasons, it's such a gorgeous season with all of the pretty colors and is just one of the many reasons as to why I want to move to Tennessee =) Autumn happens to be my name as well!
