Default Visiting The Oak Ridge Area?

If you will be visiting the Oak Ridge area (Oak Ridge, Clinton, Norris, Oliver Springs) between October 1 - December 31, I thought I would share the schedule of events going on around here. Since I culled the information from a variety of sources, you might want to verify the date and location and check out the time as it gets closer to the event.


October

October 5: The start of the Oak Ridge Film Festival.

October 5: Homecoming at Oak Ridge High School

October 6: The McClain Family Band (bluegrass) performs in concert with the Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra at the Grove Center.

October 6: Secret City Head Race (Oak Ridge) - rowing

October 6: Brownie Workshop - Creative Composing and Sounds of Music at the Children's Museum (Oak Ridge)

October 9 - 14: Autumn Splendor Festival - Appalachian Arts Crafts Center in Norris

October 12 - 13: Clinch River Antiques Festival in Clinton

October 11 - 14: Tennessee Fall Homecoming at the Museum of Appalachia in Norris

Weekends In October: (Oak Ridge) Fall Colors Train Ride - Secret City Excursion Train

October 18 – 20: Windrock ATV Annual Fall Benefit Ride in Oliver Springs

October 20: Blair String Quartet at the Pollard Auditorium (Oak Ridge)

October 20 and 21: Oak Ridge Street Painting Festival at Roane State Community College

October 20: Turbo Turtle Race (Oak Ridge)

October 21: Oak Ridge Community Band Fall Concert

October 25: (Oak Ridge) Halloween Party for kids 4th grade and under at the civic center

October 27: (Oak Ridge) Halloween Train Ride - Secret City Excursion Train

October 27: Magic Show at the Children's Museum (Oak Ridge)

All Month: Places and Spaces: Mapping Science exhibit at the American Museum of Science and Energy (Oak Ridge)


November

November 1: Holiday In The Mountains Fall Appalachian Festival at the Children’s Museum (Oak Ridge)

November 9: Oak Ridge Symphony and Chorus Concert Mozart, Handel, Paert

November 9, 10, 11: Oak Ridge Civic Ballet Association presents The Nutcracker – The November 9 performance is for kids.

November 16 - December 2: Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella at the Oak Ridge Playhouse

November 18 – 19: Pilot Club Arts and Crafts Festival at the Oak Ridge Civic Center

November 19: Parade of Trees at the Oak Ridge Mall (Santa, elves, ornaments workshop for kids, music by the Oak Ridge High School Ensemble dressed in Victorian garb, family portraits)

November 30: Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Bissell Park (Oak Ridge)


December

December 1: Festive Christmas Concert with Oak Ridge Orchestra, Chorus and Sound Company (Christmas and Chanukah music)

December 1: Oak Ridge Community Band Christmas Sing-Along (note: this date may be wrong but it is an annual event so count on it happening sometime this month)

December 1: Oak Ridge Christmas Parade (downtown Oak Ridge starting at the High School)

December 1: Clinton Christmas Parade (6PM) in historic downtown Clinton

December 2: Christmas In Old Appalachia at the Museum of Old Appalachia in Norris

December 8: 5th Annual Holiday Homecoming at Norris Dam State Park

December 8 – 9: Santa Train (Oak Ridge)

December 13: Oak Ridge High School Holiday Concert
