Great to see Memphis gaining! Although it looks like Bartlett and Collierville have slowed down considerably.

Also impressive to see that all of the top 10 percentage gainers are in the Nashville metro. Although, to be honest, giving birth to twins in Mitchellville could be the reason for its rate lol.

Memphis' numbers are surprising and cool. I wonder how many of these cities gained population mostly through annexation and which actually gained new peeps?

That's about the hardest thing there is to determine. The only thing I know you can do is look at each Census and see what the official land area for each city is, and if it gained. But that only works for the actual Census. Unless you closely follow the news, or the cities in question have updated their facts on their websites....well then it's nearly impossible to tell.

There's a certain very expensive software I use in my line of work called 'Geolytics' that provides that sort of data. Fascinating stuff.

Good to see Memphis growing. I'm not too surprised about Bartlett and Germantown slowing down; both of them have very limited space for growth unless they choose to invoke their rights to expand into their respective urban growth areas. In the Memphis metro, the one town I was surprised about was Marion. It grew at a steady pace for several years. I wonder if people have finally figured out that living in a town with zero amenities and paying a state income tax just to avoid living in Memphis isn't worth it. Come back to the city, people! Stop giving the money you earned in Tennessee to the state of Arkansas!

I wouldn't be surprised if Memphis has finally started to swing around. I am moving down in August and so I've been sort of following the city news and what I've found is pretty surprising. There is tons and tons of great stuff going on there that doesn't make the headlines here on C-D.
