evening scenes in rural Greene County...
I took these photos yesterday while on a late-day stroll about 6 miles E of Baileyton. After a 30-minute drive from Kingsport, I didn't get underway until 6:15 and due to a slight "miscalculation," I ended up walking 7 miles instead of 4, covering the last 3 after sunset.

For sheer bucolic beauty (vast rolling pastures w/ picturesque barns set against a mountainous backdrop), Greene County is hard to beat, IMO.

Lovely photos. Makes me homesick! Part of my family lives in Baileyton and I love the drive down. I grew up in east Greene, Chestnut Ridge near Horse Creek, but the beauty is near the same there, as well.

Those are beautiful Kamoshika! I love driving through that area. We live in Gray, my folks live in Rogersville, the quickest route is 26 to 11w and straight shot, but sometimes I like to take the long way, which is through that area. Well, a little to the east and north of that as we take 75 up to state RD 81, through fall branch and cut over on I think 347 (?) which brings us to the north east corner of Bailington and over to Hawkins county and yea it takes us at least another half hour drive, but the views and land is beautiful and quiet all back through there. Lots of beautiful farms like the pictures you took.

Those pics are absolutely beautiful! I was originally looking in that part of the state. Is there scenery like that near Cookeville???? Thanks, kamoshika, for sharing the beauty with those of us who haven't made it there YET.

Thanks for the pics...
My wife and I are moving to Baileyton when I retire in a few years...
Makes me wish we were there now.
