Hi, my family and I are considering moving to East TN from the gulf coast of FL. We are slowly being forced out by the high cost of living, not to mention the unbearable summers. We love the country and our peace and quiet. My main concern is getting jobs in TN. My husband is a contractor/carpenter currently employed fixing up all the foreclosures around here. I am a horse trainer/riding instructor. So with both of our careers in mind I am not sure of the potential outlook for jobs in TN. We have looked at houses in East TN and the landscape seems beautiful. The cost of living seems much lower (rent around here is no lower than 1200/mo for a decent place on a little acreage, more like 1500-2000). If anyone has any answers for me please feel free to give me your opinion!

Get to know the counties in Tennessee and what City ~ Town ~ 4 corners are located with in that county. Then contact that county /city /town. Chamber of Commerce.. be specific on what you ask for. They will gladly send you "FREE" Information.. With in the Chamber site most will have members listed and what that member contributes to the community . Some Chambers have economic development members and employers with in that community.

This link will give you all Chambers with in the State of Tennessee http://tennessee.org/

Clicking on County will give you information on that county http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/map...essee_map.html
