Default rural scenes near Rogersville, TN...

Rogersville's a wonderful little town in Hawkins Co. about 25 miles W of Kingsport. I got underway too late yesterday to catch the last part of Rogersville's big Heritage Days festival, so I took a drive through the countryside instead.

After exploring a bit I ended up in the Poor Valley area about 6 mi. WNW of Rogersville. As is true for much of E. Tennessee, the scenery there is subtly beautiful rather than spectacular. I parked at a church and went for a 4-mile stroll; here's some of what I saw:

In 65 minutes of walking I encountered just 6 vehicles.

If you have Google Earth Rogersville is on the edge of a very clear panel where you can zoom down too less than 2000feet in elevation........Just beautiful country
