Default Health Insurance

What is the most prevalent health insurance companies that are used in TN? I am thinking maybe bluecross, humana, and aetna. Wondering if anyone has done any research on any of the companies in TN, and which one is the BEST BET........?

Blue Cross/Blue Shield is the big player here in Tennessee. I have their insurance at my work; for an insurance company I don't have a lot of complaint about them.

I have Aetna. They have been wonderful. Approved surgery in a couple of seconds. When I didn't understand my bill, they immediately e-mailed me and explained it to me.

We have Aetna also, and Hik, I have to tell you that you are the first person that I have run into in the last 5 years who also is with Aetna. I hope that it a well-accepted plan in Tennessee.

We have had such terrific experiences with Aetna (about 15 years now). They have always taken care of everything we have been billed for. Here in N. GA they have just started accepting Aetna in this past month. Still, all the time that we have been going to doctors out of network, Aetna paid all of our bills. I cannot say enough good things about them. But, I would guess that others have had the same fortunate experience with their health plans.

Best of everything to you with your job search and plans for your future. We'll be watching for your posts to see how it is going, Ucandoit. (Love the name.)

The Blues are very prevalent in TN. I've never been a Humana fan. With any insurance company there are different plans. It is best to look at specific plan design and networks rather than just companies; and of course, compare costs.

I have United HealthCare, a subsidiary of John Deere (yeah, the tractor people). Many state employees have this. They have been an absolute dream.

My parents had Blue Cross Blue Shield when they lived in TN and kept them when they retired and moved back to Florida. I've never heard anyone make any complaints about BCBS's service. I would not hesitate to use them for my health insurance if I didn't already have such good service with John Deere.
