Cades Cove Photos: Foliage?

Yes, there are a lot of wild flowers there in the spring. Usually in the fall too, were there not many today?

I didn't see ANY flowers. I didn't go into the visitor's center. Maybe there were flowers near that building.

The last time I was in Cades Cove I was 7-8 my grandparents new a family working or living on the grounds.The man of the family made wooden cedar shakes,and his wife worked in the gris mill........

We went in May and there were flowers all over. You will see alot of daffodils scattered about. Leftover from the early settlers I am sure. My hubby loves the photo you got of the deer in the fog (the last one).

Wow, that's interesting. I have to confess I was primarily looking for color and only stopped at 2 buildings (two churches, one had a cemetary behind it). I'll do this again in December when leaves won't matter.

LauraC, the pix took my breath away! Especially the ones of the fog and deer. I must say though, you may think the color is "boring" but from my point of view it is still beautiful.

Laurac, Awesome pictures, Looks like it is still a bit early there for some of the more brilliant colors to be showing.

I was in Crossville yesterday and I saw quite a bit of the larger trees beginning to color up...some very beautiful yellow colors are starting to show there on that part of the plateau.

I'm waiting to grab some pics here at the peak if possible. Kerry

Kerry, I couldn't figure out why so little yellow because that's the color you usually see early on. For the few trees that had some yellow the leaves were small, curly, dried up looking and part brown. That's not good.
