Just a little rain for us today, but much chillier.

For anyone coming to Middle Tennessee this coming weekend, the weather is supposed to be nice. Cool but not really cold, and sunny.

Projected rain at least 30% everyday here this weekend in the Tri-Cities area and the news said we got 0.5 to 1.0 inches today but we are still at a 16.64 deficit!

We're gotten over 4 inches of rain here in Nashville this week. Some of the areas in Middle Tennessee have gotten 7 or 8 inches.

It's a little late to help some plants, but maybe it will keep any more trees or shrubs from dying, as well as help replemish the lakes.

I may have lost some yews and a white pine in my yard due to the drought. It's too early to tell whether they're really dead or can come back.

This is great news for my future home state! Let's hope rainfall totals will be normal next year.

This has just been one very weird year all the way around.

My poor yardgirl. If I'm correct, my yard was mowed ONCE since the first of July until now.

And for a native Tennessean seeing the trees die in the woods is just awful. Our hardwood forests are one of the things we like best about Tennessee.

It's been weird weather for a lot of the country.

In the end, I would say that it has been very sad. I hope not too many trees were lost. The foliage is just bizarre. In my backyard I have many trees with no leaves left, several with yellow/brown leaves still on them, and a few that are still all green.

I am hoping that this weirdness keeps up for just one more season. It would be wonderful to have a blizzard!

But I hope our spring, which is usually breathtaking, is back to normal, come next year.

you should see Minnesota now, that is our normal pre winter, brown leaves are left, not many though. Almost all the trees are bare. Can't wait to get to Tennessee. Hope the rain keeps up for all of you.

We tried to collect leaves yesterday. Ewww! Not one was pretty. Every single one of them had lots of brown and black spots on the leaves. Is that indicative of the drought?
