Clifton, TN (Chattanooga, Savannah, Central: for sale, to rent, how much)

My husband and I are in our 30's and thinking of buying some acerage and a log cabin in Clifton. We are from south Florida. Can anyone give incite on the average age group and anything about this town? Are there many churches next to each other?

My husband and I are also looking at the acreage and log cabin sale in Clifton. Alleycat was right - the City-Data homepage for Clifton gives alot of good info. You can also go to the Cityofclifton.com website or the cliftonchamber.com website for info. It appears that there are quite a few churches in Clifton but hardly any of them have a website so you really can't tell about location. We are in Central FL and are going to Clifton Nov. 10th. Are you going to that sale as well?

Is this Ross Creek sale that you guys talking about? My friend going there, and sounds like he really crazy about this one, I myself prefer stay put in the hot FL, this time just further realllllllly...further...north from Miami, that's all...good luck to of u guys

WHAT IS THE DEAL ON THE 20 ACRES AND LOG HOME?
IS IT REAL OR A SCAM?
I WONDER BECAUSE I KNOW HOW MUCH A LOG PACKAGE THAT LARGE COST, SO THE $69,000 SEEM REALLY OFF!
IF THIS IS REAL, IS THERE ONLY ONE OF THESE DEALS?

I answered most of your questions in the other Clifton TN thread, but my husband and I are going to the November 10th sale and we have been talking with one of the sales consultants. There was a sale in September and we are told all 40 parcels of 20 acres were sold. The development is Ross Creek Ridge and it is about 3 1/2 miles from Clifton TN, western TN, on the Tennessee River. This is a small town, but there is a Bear Trace golf course (#1 rated in Tn and Jack Niclaus (sp?) designed). We are convinced that that will bring buyers to the area. There is alot of construction going on in the area as when we tried to rent a place for that weekend everything was booked up for the month, apparently with construction and contractor people. That is what the Bear Inn people told me. You can look at the Clifton city or Chamber site but there isn't much on the Ross Creek Ridge sale site. The Bear Trace golf course in Ross Creek Landing has alot of info on the site - read everything. Also watch the video on the Ross Creek Ridge site. The sale is 29,000.00 for 20 acres or add a log cabin pkg. for 40,000.00 more. The log cabin package includes the blueprints and the materials. It will cost over 200,000.00 to build a log cabin. We went to Valuebuild website and you can build a nice house for 150,000.00. The sites have electric and phone but you will have to put in water and sewage. The have private covenants, but at this time we don't know what they are. The roads are county maintained and are not paved at this time. Some of the parcels are cleared but some are not is what we are told. We will let you all know what we find out when we return on the 15th. I hope this helps. The nearest towns are Waynesboro and Savannah that I can tell, but the Bear Trace golf site will give mileages from Clifton to Chattanooga and Nashville or go to mapquest and look that up. We think it's worth the trip for a look obviously or we wouldn't be making the trip.

I forgot to mention that the sale for November 10th is supposedly booked and there are 40 more parcels that are up for sale. You can build when you want and sell as many acres as you want. I was told that the parcels are buildable but we will see........
