I had to Google to see where Adamsville was myself. You might want to also search for Selmer, McNairy County, or Savannah. Adamsville and Selmer are both in McNairy County and that would at least give you some information. I have seen one member here who was from either Selmer or Savannah (if I recall correctly), but he or she doesn't post often.

And, yep, you're right . . . it's hot down there.

We bought in Bethel Springs (just north of Selmer). Will be up there next week building our garage, house to come later. Very nice people, everyone will know what you are up to ;>) Not much in the way of entertainment if you can't entertain yourself. Both Savannah and Selmer have a Walmart, Savannah has a nice Lowes. 30 miles to AL or MS.

Adamsville is a little town that is just across the TN River from Savannah; it's closer to Savannah than it is to Selmer. I lived there for a few months when I was younger. I don't know what to tell you about it, other than it's a typical, quiet, small West Tennessee town.

One of our state's more notorious governors (and my late friend) Ray Blanton was from Adamsville.

Adamsville TN is also the hometown of Legendary Sheriff Buford Pusser, in May of each year they have a Buford Pusser Festival in his honor. I had the unfortunate experience of meeting Sheriff Pusser in 1967 on Hwy 45 just south of Selmer.

One of his deputies stopped our car coming from a bootleg joint(we were all Teenagers) he made us open all our beer and pour it out...LOL.. he was a huge man and he scared the holy crap out of us..lol.. I'll never forget that.

h.y.f, I wasn't there when he got killed, I didn't live in Adamsville but I had relatives that lived in McNairy County and visited during the summer when school was out. My Uncle knew Buford and his parents very well, IMO his death was no accident.
