Well, I think by definition all ramps are wild (they are also known as wild leeks). They have a strong flavor. In the olden days they were said to ward off colds and flus . . . they will also ward off your spouse and other pesky relatives; even your dog will abandon you.

Ramps are like wild onions--google "ramp festival TN" and I'm sure plenty will come up!

Possums probably look better cooked than living lol...

Can ramps kill you, or is that another species of flora?

No that's...ummm...what's that called, darn it?

I know what you're talking about...it's another festival...

AH! Polk (or poke) weed. It grows wild too.

The festival is called the poke sallet festival, it's spelled different ways.

You have to harvest it at a certain point of its development or it can make you sick.

That's it!

I just looked it up on Wikipedia and I'm sure I've seen that growing in the backyard. I need to tell the kid not to eat that!

Exclamation Be sure you have a head cold before fixing that possum!

Have you ever smelled a possum cooking? They smell better squashed flat on the macadam with flies buzzing around!

My grandfather used to cook possum and Grammom made him do it outside. Just about suffocated the neighbors for miles around. Ever smell a tannery? That's it!!
