Smile Foliage on Tail of the Dragon. What a beautiful sight.

Here are some photos my husband and I took last weekend on Rte. 129 traveling from Maryville south to N GA. Some are from the Tail of the Dragon.

The tree colors were not really spectacular, but the scenery certainly was! (I am really a novice. I hope these photos get posted!!!)

What a view! Yes spectacular is right. Is that a dam in the last one?

Question I think it is Parksville Reservoir Dam.

It is a dam, summergal in SE TN on 129. I think that it is one of the 3 Oconee River dams. We see several on our trips back and forth between N GA and E TN.

Probably one of our local folk will recognize it and let us both know for sure.

Beautiful pictures! The last time I was on that road was with me in the little truck out front waving every on coming vehicle over as my now ex was behind me scraping mountain sides with the 17 foot moving truck.....yea wasn't looking at the scenery, was praying that everything I own was not going over the side of the cliffs! I have not had a desire to ever drive that road again. Now that you posted those, I might be temped again. Maybe when we get the RX7 rebuilt and back on the road we'll give it another go.

Try it on a weekday, mouse. The weekend cyclists and leaf peepers are out in force on the weekends. Some of them insist on using both lanes when on the hairpin turns!!
