I know this an an old forum but if anyone is still checking I just want to say thank you all! We are relocation from rural souther Arizona, to White Bluff TN this fall. This is a blind move as we have never been there. However, I grew up in Wisconsin and miss the green summers there after 13 years in the desert so much that it actually hurts. Every time I visit and leave the midwest I ache for the green. However....the long WI winters don't do it for me so I am hoping to find Tennessee a bit more mild but still enjoy the seasons and colors other than brown again. The reason why this site was such a breath of fresh air is because my other searches brought up bitter "I hate TN!" posts and I was beginning to get really nervous. Everyone with their positive remarks here really make me feel optimistic. Thank you!

Let me count the ways. Bummer, I can't count that high. In all seriousness I love the terrain, the nostalgia, the friendly people, and especially the local farmers markets. That's for starters.

We are just starting our scouting trip for a retirement location in TN. It's a beautiful state. So nice to see how much people love it there. I feel like I am making a great choice! The pictures posted are so beautiful!

Plundering places like this make it a refreshing adventure. This site is on my bucket list to do again when the fall color is at its peak. This was late August or Early Sept last year.

Where was this picture taken? We're retiring to East TN and can't wait to start exploring the area. Oh and I'm a waterfall junkie, so any suggestions welcome.

It was near Wartburg. East of Knoxville. Little Obed I think. Catoosa National Forest maybe. I had a good guide for the week of wandering aimlessly around.

correction. West of Knoxville. Trying to isolate the place on a google map.

Near here. I had taken photos of the river from an old bridge near here. Went into a drug store for first aid stuff in Wartburg.
