Default Large boat builder to move in Monroe County?

I was talking to a gentlemen in the Madisonville area over the weekend, and he said there was supposed to be a large boat building company move into Monroe County. He said there were supposed to be well over a thousand jobs created by them opening. He said the name of the company was Christian Brothers, but maybe I misunderstood or something. I've googled everything I can think of trying to find it.

Is anyone aware of something like this moving in to the Madisonville/Vonore are? Would be very interested to know. Thanks!

Exrvi is on a distinguished road
Yes, it's Christensen Yachts, and they are in the process of building a facility on Tellico Lake. It is on the Monroe/Loudon County line, but Vonore is the closest town. Projections are for more than 1,000 jobs. I've seen it from the lake, and they have the superstructure in, but I suspect it will be a while before they are open. Their home page is here:

CHRISTENSENYACHTS.COM

I understand Tiger Woods is a customer.

We also learned this week that Cobalt Yachts is closing their new facility here eliminating 110 jobs. Apparently they hadn't really expected the duplication of cost associated with having two facilities to be what it was, and they were to far away (Kansas HQ) to have the kind of hands on control they wanted. The loss is of Cobalt is more of a bump in the road since someone will want the plant they built.

Cool, thanks for the info. Will keep an eye on it as I will be keeping work options open if I move to the Madisonville/Sweetwater area.

Tellico Lake is a "HOT BED" for boat builders..... I know of at least 4-5 large firms that have moved their in the last several.

Tennessee Boat Builders

Most builders are using Knoxville for their address. But have plants in or near Tellico Lake

Tennessee Boat Manufacturers
