Default Moving from FL too

We want to move from FL to TN within the next few months, between Decatur and Athens. My husband would have to commute to Chattanooga for work, most of the drive is I75, A 50 mile drive.is this an unreasonable commute?
Also my kids will have to attend a new school and the school only has about 400 students K-8. Here they go to school with double that many kids. I don't want them to feel like aliens or something. Any advice would be great. Thanks N.H.

P.S. Tennessee is the most beautiful place I have ever been and everyone is very friendly.

Decatur is near where I was born, Grandview, and the closest little bigger town was Spring City, so small it had only half of a downtown. What sounds like a 50 minute commute in-bound to chattanooga is anything but that. The I-75 stretch is usually a mess and there is construction too. Consider the area just north of Chattanooga off of US 27, Soddy Daisy, Signal Mountain... more scenic and closer to town.
