Heritage Academy drastically limiting water use

MONTEREY -- The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency is now monitoring the water situation at a Christian-based private boarding school located east of Monterey.

Heritage Academy has been identified in the agency's most recent weekly drought task force situation report as having a declining source of water.

The school, which houses about 44 high school students and about 50 staff members on its campus, depends entirely on two wells for water, according to maintenance employee Lee Dimick, which are now beginning to run dry.
