Not trying to be provocative but this humble Aussie has never found a single American beer that I considered REMOTELY drinkable - and boy, I've tried a few.

To be fair, perhaps it's largely a case of forty years of Aussie conditioning
and / or maybe they don't travel too well.

Aussie Crown Lager, New Zealand Steinlager, Canadian Moosehead, Redback Wheat Beer and a few of the Scottish and Belgian drops will do me.

But hey, it's such a personal thing.

I think a big part of it (what tastes good) is indeed personal taste. A lot of it has to do with what you "cut your teeth on", etc. Regional tastes do vary.

Very interesting thread.

This was a great thread.

Anyone have suggestions on stores around Nashville with good beer selections? Or any recommendations on local/regional brews that need to be tried? I'm hoping to go on a road trip to Nashville soon and want to see if I can stock up on beers that I can't get in Oklahoma.

I stumbled across this site http://www.frugalmacdoogal.com and have already started scribbling out a shopping list of beers I've wanted to try for a long time but can't get at home.

Thanks in advance,
Ron

Why Nashville? Keep going on down the road and come to the Brewers' Jam in Knoxville in October. Great music, great beer.
