As we are coming into the 2007 holiday season and winter, many of our Tennessee towns will be having events or displays related to the season/holidays that people who are curious about Tennessee or planning to move here would probably like to see. Some are events and some are displays and decorations and some are winter scenes.
So, throughout the next 38 days (November 23, 2007 - January 1, 2008 for this particular thread), grab your camera and let's see how your town (or Tennessee towns you visit during the next few weeks) get into the holiday season this year. Name the town and what we are seeing and post your own best photos. examples: town/church/mall/countryside decorations/displays, frozen waterfalls/ponds at the parks, parades, fairs/festivals. (Note: If you have a lot, I would suggest putting your best few up here and then giving us a link to see the rest. Also, this thread should showcase the town and/or its people, not the decorations/people/pets inside your home which no one would see if they visited the town.) If you reply to someone, please edit out the image in your reply so it isn't posted twice. |

I'm going to start with a photo taken in Clinton of the lit decorations on their telephone poles. I took the photo because I think it's funny to see Christmas decorations against a backdrop of Fall colors (still visible this morning).
One thing I have noticed in East Tennessee is a lot of above the ground wires which I'm guessing is due to the terrain. [IMG] [/IMG] |

What if I just write a Tennessee Christmas story and post it?
I think I've misplaced my camera (not that I used it much anyway). |

I can't wait for Tridad to post the pictures from tonight's Grand Illumination in Chattanooga! It truly was grand with music, dancing, singing, boat parade full of holiday lights, illumination of the city with beautiful lights, and awesome fireworks!!! It is official: The Christmas season has kicked off here in Chattanooga! The live Nativity was in its usual place and our little one got to pet a duck, a rooster, and a sheep.
My favorite part was trying to see the event through the eyes of our 2-year old Priceless |

No pictures...just a couple of videos from the show held at Ross' Landing on the river here in Chattanooga. While watching keep in mind it was 35 degrees while the Choo-Choo Kids were prancing around up on stage.
Unfortunately, I had limited space on the camera and wasn't able to capture the bulk of the fireworks at the end...but you get a taste of them along with some of the songs performed by our singing Santa. |
