Default Weather

I just heard that the wind got to 106mph on the Tenn side of the Smokey Mts. Does anyone know about the exact location of this? Does this kind of thing happen often there?

It happened between Gatlinburg, TN and Cherokee, NC and they had to close the road to clean it up and a couple of people were injured but no that's not the norm. There was some Jett Stream coming thru from the Southeast I believe and caused us to have some windy conditions, but it was worse up there in the higher elevations. Usually the biggest problems up there is the snow in the Winter season, they close the road because of ice and such. I live in Newport, about 45 minutes or so from there and we didn't even get a breeze, LOL! The weather in my area is pretty boring. Everything happens north or south of us.
