Yah, he refers people all over the place. Chattanooga, Knoxville just the other day, pretty much everywhere but Memphis. Where he lived and loved it and would live again but the crime is too bad. Something like that.
P.S. Not a JMT stalker, promise!

Haha it's ok, I'm just relieved that I haven't said anything incriminating!
I actually would love to live in Memphis again, and I do recommend Memphis to some people. I can find qualities in just about every town in Tennessee with just a few exceptions. Still, if I could move to Cookeville I'd do it in a heartbeat.

There is no problem; it is actually a problem solver.

Ohh, yes, the orphaned post! Don't worry, somewheresouth, this happens to most of us. It has been the case with several of my posts.
If the moderator thinks it is in everyone's best interest to move a subject to another thread where it fits better, your post may be orphaned, i.e. It doesn't belong to anything in the thread.
Sometimes, there is an unpleasant post that for everyone's benefit the moderator decides to eliminate. If you posted in response to such a post, your post will now be orphaned because the one you responded to is gone.
And, as I have done, you may go back and read your post, be unable to edit any longer and regret what you have posted. In this case, you may request that the moderator remove your post. It may then orphan someone else's post. And, where your post appeared originally, it will say something like - "This post has been deleted by the moderator by request."
So, in any case the "orphan" is not responsible in any way - there is just no longer any relevance to the post being in the thread. It eliminates any confusion for those reading the thread.
Got it? Someone might have some other information that I haven't run across, as well.

I suspect it has to do with the weatherguy post. I see the link to his blog was removed by the moderator. Mine was in response to his post about the weather. My question though still remains. What does he mean by enjoy Cook-vegas? I hope that is not an offensive slang????

I notice my message was deleted and 'orphaned'...I understand that it was...but where did it go??? (Did I waste my keystrokes in regards to that particular post?)....

An "Orphan" Giving AnAnswer

My answer to your question was how we lovingly call our city "Cook-vegas" because of the LIGHTS as you travel on I-40 (especially from Nashville). We have a beautiful city here on the Cumberland Plateau and are very proud of it.
I guess a MOD thinks it isn't appropriate for me to reply to you or the fact my blog site was mentioned in it wasn't appropriate either...funny, it ain't 'advertising' (like in their terms of service)...it definitely isn't a money maker......it's one guy talking about weather in the Cookeville, TN area (hmmm, isn't that what City-Data is all about?)..educating people about their 'area'?

I agree. I AM MOVING to Cookeville in the next few months. I almost have my home ready to put on the market. As soon as it sells we are Cookeville bound.
Anyway, yes your link is very helpful, and as a matter of fact I came back to your post this morning as I am eagerly waiting to see if it snows this weekend in Cookeville. When I noticed it cut I was disappointed. I was able to search Google and find you though. No worries.
Mod,
Please don't remove links like this. I saw no ads, just good weather info for the area. Please share with us the reasoning behind removing the link.
Thanks!

Is that the reason weather? Ive heard that all my adult life and I thought is was because Cookeville was the Hub and being that all the other surrounding towns were so small in comparison that Cookeville was being compared to Las Vegas.

I think he said because of the "LIGHTS". Not because of the weather.
