Post Looking for 3bd 2ba to rent...

My husband & I are relocating to Tennessee preferablly the country area. We are looking to rent a 3bd 2ba home in a good area as we have children, good schools is a plus as well. I know this might be a long shot as I am unsure of rental prices in Tennessee, we are looking at a price of around $700.00- possiblly $800.00 a month. I really want to live out in the country where I could have horses, a farm house would be great but am not picky, could also be a fixer upper rent to own deal as well. If anyone knows of anything resembling what we are looking for I would appreciate it as we are not able to wait for our home to sell down here to move and have a short time to find something. Thanks for any information you may provide me

Tennessee is a pretty big state, Help us out by telling us more about what you're looking for. Do you need a job? Since you want to have horses, are you wanting to rent an entire farm for $700-800/month or just a house? I think it would be difficult to find acreage at that price, particularly if you need to be near a larger town for employment.

We would love to be around the mountains if possible, horses would be on down the road some once we have settled in to Tennessee. Right now we are just looking for a home to rent to get us back on our feet but would love for it to be out in the country in an affordable area. My husband will be looking for work as a painter, he has his own painting business down here so an area where we could afford to live with a commute that isn't too far away. I was looking at Sevierville, Mursfreeboro, Nashville, Cooksville, Oak Ridge, Johnson City areas so far.

If you want to be in the Cookeville area (my favorite area in Tennessee, by the way), you could almost certainly find something in your price range in Jackson County or Overton County. Actually you could find places in Clay County or Pickett County for a song, but the commute to Cookeville might be a little too much (30-45 miles or so).

There's a lot of construction going on in the Cookeville and Crossville areas. You could probably find reasonably-priced rentals around Monterey which is between Cookeville and Crossville.

I think it would be tough to find something in your price range in the Nashville or Murfreesboro areas. Same goes for Sevierville.

If you want to live near Oak Ridge, check out Morgan County.

For Johnson City, you might want to check out Carter County.

Good luck!

Thanks for the much needed information as we know nothing about Tennessee and don't want to go up empty handed and not knowing what areas to look for or what to expect...
