Default Snow?

Did northeast Tennessee get any snow today? I know that Abingdon, Virgina, did.

They are predicting snow tonight for Knoxville.

There was just a dusting on the ground & trees between Kingsport and Bristol this morning. Parts of SW Virginia got an inch or so.

It's pretty warm (over 50) in Knoxville right now so the temperature's gonna have to drop a lot for you to see any white stuff, and by the time it's cold enough to snow the precipitation should be pretty much gone. Here's a good radar map that shows frozen precipitation in blue:
AccuWeather.com - Weather Radar Church Hill, TN - Local, State, Regional & National (http://www.accuweather.com/radar-large.asp?partner=accuweather&traveler=0&zipcode=3 7642&level=state&type=SIR&anim=1&site=TN_ - broken link)

As a general rule of thumb, when local (NE Tenn.) meteorologists call for snow, I assume it won't & it usually doesn't, much to my chagrin.

I never bother with the local meteorologists. The only thing I rely on is The National Weather Service:

Tonight: A slight chance of rain showers before 7pm, then a slight chance of sprinkles between 7pm and 9pm, then a slight chance of sprinkles and flurries between 9pm and midnight, then a slight chance of flurries between midnight and 1am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 27. North wind between 5 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

However, I think the moisture will be gone by the time temperature drops.

Thanks for the updates from elsewhere!

Was out tonight driving kids here and there, running errands, was mix of lite rain and snow. But nothing much and sure not enough to stick just wet. But hey, we'll take the water any way we can get it.

Smile Bundle up and put some sand (in a bag) in your trunk. It's acoming.

I would be happy with one flurry! Right now, in N. GA it's 38 and winds gusting to 35 mph, steady at 13mph. The dog didn't take long tonight for her last tinkle!

My MI son said they are at 18 degrees and had a high of 24 today. It flurries or snows everyday to one degree or another along the Great Lake shorelines. Brrrrr.

Stay warm tonight, TN.

Forgive the ignorance (I'm from CA), could you please explain the sand?
